The Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science (51530)

The Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science is the most comprehensive and relevant course of its kind in Australia and overseas. Developed for beauty therapists, this government accredited qualification will provide you with the knowledge and hands-on skills to commence work as a fully qualified Dermal Therapist within a cosmetic medical practice or advanced skin clinic.

Admission requirements

Certificate IV in Beauty or Diploma of Beauty

Course duration and commitment

Full-time: 24 hours per week over 2 16-week semesters
Part-time: 12 hours per week over 4 16-week semesters
Single unit: 6 hours per week over 1 16 week semester

Study modes available

The Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science is available on-campus (Perth, WA only) or online. Online students are to complete the 10 to 14-day practical component of the course in Perth, WA or Sydney, NSW.

Further Learning Pathways

The Advanced Diploma curriculum encompasses the ITEC Diploma of Microdermabrasion Treatments and Diploma of IPL and Laser Treatments. Students holding a Diploma in Beauty Therapy will be eligible to sit an additional theory and practical exam conducted by an ITEC International examiner.

Graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science will also have the opportunity to continue further studies with one years credit into Bachelor of Science (Health Sciences) at Perth’s Curtin University.
