Courses Offered
AACDS offers four main courses in field of Cosmetic Medicine and Dermal Therapies. Students will choose their course based on career options, desired qualification level and further learning opportunities.
The Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science
This is the main qualification studied through AACDS and is recommended for beauty therapists wishing to pursue a career in a cosmetic medical practice or establish their own medispa/clinic.
This course is available on-campus (Perth) and online with the practical units delivered in Perth and Sydney.
AACDS Certificate in Dermal Therapies
The AACDS Certificate in Dermal Therapies is suited to therapists or nurses wishing to improve their knowledge in IPL, microdermabrasion and chemical peeling. This option is recommended for therapists and nurses who are currently practicing or are considering practicing dermal therapies in a non-medical environment.
This course is available only online with the practical units delivered in Perth and Sydney.
IPL/Laser Safety Officer’s Certificate
This certificate is the only course in Australia approved by both of the leading IPL and Laser authorities: WA Radiological Council and QLD Radiation Health. Although this certificate can be studied as a stand-alone course, it is mainly delivered as part the AACDS Short Courses and the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science.

Vocational Graduate Certificate of Cosmetic Nursing
The Vocational Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Nursing is a postgraduate course developed specifically for Enrolled or Registered Nurses wishing to enter the field of cosmetic medicine. This government-accredited course will provide students with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to work in a cosmetic medical practice and/or accredited day hospital performing cosmetic nursing, dermal therapies and injectable procedures.
This course is only available online with the practical units delivered in Perth and Sydney.
Expressions of Interest for the Vocational Graduate Certificate in Cosmeceutical Design and Development
The Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science (AACDS) in conjunction with the Institute of Personal Care Science (IPCS) are now taking expressions of interest for a new postgraduate qualification (pending government-accreditation) in cosmeceutical design and development.
