Vocational Graduate Certificate in Dermal Therapies (Cosmetic Medicine Stream 52356)

Course Background

The Vocational Graduate Certificate in Dermal Therapies (Cosmetic Medical Stream) is the first Nationally Accredited course of its kind in Australia. As vocational course, there is a strong emphasis on the development of practical competencies in a range of cosmetic procedures. Theory-based units encompassing both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures are supported by practical competencies in dermal therapies and cosmetic injectables. Medical practitioners graduate with the skills and knowledge to pursue a career as a Cosmetic Physician whilst providing a supervisory role for non-medical staff.

Entry Requirement

Candidates must hold current registration in the country in which they practice.

Please note: If you wish to study on an Australian Student Visa for a period of 12 months, the appropriate course option is the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science. Medical doctors may be eligible for some recognition of prior learning.

Course Duration

Full-time: 15 hrs/week over one, 16-week semester, plus 10 to 14* days practical training.
Part-time: 7.5 hrs/week over two, 16-week semesters, plus 10 to 14* days practical training.

Study Mode

On-line with practical delivered on-campus in Sydney NSW, Gold Coast QLD and Perth WA

Professional Recognition

This course is approved by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for 60 Continuing Professional Development points.
