Vocational Graduate Certificate in Dermal Therapies (Allied Health/Beauty Stream)

This government-accredited graduate course is developed for candidates from an allied health or beauty background. The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and hands-on skills to meet the employment requirements of a modern skin clinic. Graduates may seek employment as a qualified Dermal Therapist, establish their own clinic, or add dermal therapy procedures to their current scope of practice.

Please note: Should a student be interested in working in the cosmetic medical profession, the recommended course is the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science.

Admission Requirements

Certificate IV or Diploma of Beauty Therapy or a Diploma minimum within a health related field.

Course Duration

Full-time: 26 hrs/week over one, 16-week semester, plus 10 to 14 days practical training.
Part-time: 12 hrs/week over two, 16-week semester, plus 10 to 14 days practical training.

Learning Pathways

Graduates of the Vocational Graduate Certificate in Dermal Therapies will achieve advanced standing (credit) into the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science and may apply for advanced standing (credit) into an Enrolled Nursing course.

Additional Information

Students NOT from a beauty background may be advised to complete some additional units from the Beauty Training Package. These units are delivered through TAFEs and private beauty colleges.
