Dr Jayson Oates FRACS

Medical Director

Jayson graduated from medicine in 1991 from the University of Western Australia. Soon after, he undertook a four-year specialists training program in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery graduating a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRACS).

In 1998, Jayson took a cosmetic pathway and underwent additional training in facial plastics in the USA and UK. On returning from overseas training in 2000, Jayson established his practice, Academy Facial Plastics and Laser Specialist. The practice is now Perth’s largest cosmetic medical practice and is an accredited day hospital.

As well as being a skilled surgeon, Jayson is actively involved in education for both medical and paramedical professionals in the field of cosmetic medicine. In 2002, Jayson developed units for the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science in collaboration with Curtin University and continuously applies his knowledge and expertise to further develop the IPL and Laser course curriculum.

Jayson specialises in teaching unit 2.1 Cosmetic Science in which students learn about common surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures – essential knowledge for the Dermal Therapist working in the cosmetic medical or advanced beauty clinic!
