Linda Sim
Course Coordinator
Linda began her career in beauty therapy in 1987, achieving a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and an ITEC Aestheticians and Physiatrics Diploma. Linda continued her training and also achieved the ITEC Diploma of Electrology in 1992. Having worked continuously in the industry for 20 years Linda has gained experience in many areas of beauty therapy, dermal therapies and has worked closely with doctors in the cosmetic medical field.
Linda has over 13 years experience in management roles including managing her own Beauty Therapy and Appearance Medicine Clinic. This gave Linda various business administration and frontline management skills and in 2006 she completed her Diploma in Frontline Management.
Lecturing was a natural progression for Linda. With her vast industry experience she went on to complete a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment in 2002. Roles over the years included Deputy Principal, Head Lecturer, Business Development and Course Development.
In 2005 Linda completed her Advanced Diploma in Cosmetic Dermal Science through the Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science (AACDS) and Curtin University and on completion began her role as Course Coordinator and Business Developer for AACDS. Linda specialises in teaching unit 1.4 Practice Management and Administration and unit 2.2 Practical Workshops.
Current industry skills are vital when in a training role so Linda keeps her skills current by attending courses and conferences as well as working for Dr Oates at Academy Facial Plastics performing dermal therapies such as:
- Intense pulse light treatments
- Microdermabrasion
- Superficial Chemical Peels
- Surgical consultant and educator
- Pre and post-operative care
- Cosmeceutical advisor
- Electrology/Diathermy
