Yvonne Grima
Lecturer for Unit 1.3 Dermal Science Communications and Practical Trainer for Unit 2.2 Practical Workshops
Yvonne began her career in beauty therapy at the completion of her studies in 1998, achieving a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and an ITEC qualifications - Aestheticienne Diploma and Physiatrics Diploma. Yvonne has worked continuously in the industry for 11 years both in Australia and in Europe. The years of industry experience have provided Yvonne with invaluable knowledge in many areas of beauty therapy and dermal therapies.
Yvonne's passion for the beauty industry inspired her to seek a career in lecturing and training and in 2008, completed her Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Yvonne’s teaching skills developed into a lecturer position, during which Yvonne began her studies at the Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science. Yvonne was interested in combining her skills gained over the years from the Beauty and Cosmetic Industry with University studies and in 2005, Yvonne completed the Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in Management and Human Resource Management.
Today, Yvonne has a joint role with Academy Facial Plastics, practicing as a Dermal Therapist and as a lecturer for Unit 1.3 Dermal Science Communications and Assistant Practical Trainer for Unit 2.2 Practical Workshops. Yvonne believes that current industry skills are valuable when in a training role, so Yvonne maintains her skills by attending courses and conferences as well as working for Dr Oates at Academy Facial Plastics performing dermal therapies such as:
- Intense pulse light treatments
- Microdermabrasion
- Superficial Chemical Peels
- Surgical consultant and educator
- Pre and post-operative care
- Cosmeceutical advisor
