Winner of Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year 2015.
Kim commenced her beauty career in 2004 working in a salon providing traditional beauty and spa treatments. Kim then decided to expand her career options and scope of practice by studying the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science through AACDS.
Shortly after completing the course, Kim was eager to utilise her new found dermal therapy skills by establishing her clinic, La Belle Peau in North Perth. As expected, it's never easy in the first years of business. Kim experienced a number of setback, including cash flow issues, the struggles to build a solid clientele from nothing and staffing problems. With reliance and perseverance, Kim continued to tweak every aspect of her business to get it where it is today - a multi award winning clinic generating good profits with a solid, sustainable model.
For Kim Tran, her ability to ride through the failures and celebrate the little wins paid off when she recently was announced the winner of the National Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year for 2015.
"Education in dermal therapies gave me a solid foundation in which to understand the best practice model, and how to deliver real results to my clients."

My Dermal Territory
Holly is truly one of a kind. She’s the only fully-qualified Dermal Therapist in Darwin.
As a child, I suffered from terrible acne and it was this which motivated me to pursue a career helping people with similar conditions. I graduated from AACDS in 2010 and immediately found a job at a Canberra cosmetic clinic where I worked as both a manager and Dermal Therapist. Two years later, I returned to Darwin - my home town - to open my own clinic. Now, I’m the only fully-qualified Dermal Therapist offering advanced treatments in the Northern Territory.
When I started my business, I applied to the government’s New Enterprise Incentive Scheme. I was nominated for two regional awards and also won their top award; the National NEIS Association Award for Best New Business 2013. As a Dermal Therapist, I enjoy using my knowledge and expertise to change people’s lives and I’m committed to helping Territorians for the rest of my life.

Making A Difference
Deciding to further her post graduate studies with AACDS was a defining moment in Lyndal’s career.
Their Cosmetic Postgraduate Course for nurses gave me an enormous amount of information and credibility so that my clients can trust me to give them the correct advice, information and guidance as well as safe and effective treatment for their skin concerns. One of my highlights would have to be the number of suspicious skin lesions I have found and referred to a skin specialist clinic for medical assessment; with over 45 written referrals 13 have returned a positive skin cancer finding.
I also take university undergraduate nurses for their community nursing placement. This gives them a fabulous opportunity to learn about skin health issues which are not covered in their degree curriculum.
Since graduating from AACDS, I feel I have changed the lives of countless patients. I now run my own skin rejuvenation clinic in Hobart, Tasmania.

A Beautiful Journey
In just seven years, Rose has enjoyed more variety and growth in her professional life than many do in their entire career.
I first studied for the Diploma in Beauty Therapy at ACBT and an international qualification through ITEC. I then went on and completed the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science through AACDS.
My first industry job was at a cosmetic clinic called DermaQuest, where they perform a variety of treatments from facials through to breast implants. In my four years there, I worked my way up to Practice Manager, and developed my skills to the level of Skin Specialist - I was really proud of that!
After completing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, I began a new role as lecturer in the Diploma of Beauty Therapy at ACBT. It was an inspiring experience to say the least, having the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and experience of the beauty industry, to educate and motivate students.
Teaching has now led me to my role as WA State Manager for Clinic Care. I now train doctors, nurses, beauty and dermal therapists in performing a wide variety of treatments. My journey to get where I am now has been a very diverse and amazing experience. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of a career in beauty to go for it - the world is yours for the conquering.

Passion and Excellence
My personal passion is providing effective and proven treatments with excellent customer service.
Elisha’s early career in the industry commenced with the Academy Facial Plastics and Laser Specialists (AFPLS). As a Dermal Therapist Elisha gained extensive experience from treating different skin types and conditions and had the opportunity to assist in theatre during surgical procedures.
While practicing there, Elisha enrolled in and completed the Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science with AACDS and later went on to provide them with their practical training, assessment and some lecture material.
After six busy and enjoyable years with the AFPLS and by now studying a BSC in Human Biology and Business Management, Elisha’s entrepreneurial streak emerged and after many hours of research and market analysis she decided to start her own cosmetic practice, CosMedical Skin Solutions.
Recognizing the synergy with her own business vision, Elisha’s fledgling cosmetic practice started off in the rooms of a Specialist Breast Surgeon who also provided cosmetic injectables. She now has her own premises with three treatment rooms and two Dermal Therapists and the very same Surgeon now contracts for her.
“I have been running my own successful business, CosMedical Skin Solutions in Joondalup, for seven years now, in my personal passion for providing effective and proven treatments with excellent customer service”.
These days Elisha remains focused on managing and developing her team and practice for continued growth and improvement.
